    Welcome Back
I've got no excuses to make, no explanations to give, but I do sort of wish I could see the looks on some of your faces as you read this, because that's right - I'm back. So much has happened! The Red Sox have won the World Series (I've got pictures from the parade to prove it), The Patriots went 16-0 in the regular season (got photos from that one too), I've travelled up and down the East Coast for all sorts of reasons. Hell it's an entirely new year! To those of you who have been giving me a hard time (yes I am looking at you) you can quit it now. To those who have been checking in - thanks for not giving up on me (and there really are a surprising number of you. I checked my sitemeter for the first time today since August, and I have to say I was a little amazed). And to those of you who have commented, emailed, etc. I sincerely apologize. Especially to Mattysox - sorry I missed your trip to NYC.

So let's just jump right back into it, shall we?

    Home Sweet Home
It seems I always take these little blogging vacations around the same time of year. Summer is always when I'm busiest. I return after a visit from Cope, a trip to the banks of the St. Croix River (MN), and a weekend of birthday celebration (my party, not the actual day - that's not until the end of this week).

Since I've left you all, work has gone to hell (got to love transition periods), Cope and I decided against trying to continue the long distance thing, and the Sox have dropped a few games on the lead (we're still 7.5 up but still).

I've sat and tried to write about a multitude of things since I last posted, but everything has felt forced, not the least of which a post about my recent trip to MN. But having recently been shown up by a certain friend Coughcoughsteddycough who had also taken a blogging break, and having received questions from friends, family, and a coworker alike, it was clearly time to get back on the blogging horse.

So to follow shortly, a post that has little to do with anything other than the fact that I wrote it while I was sitting at the end of a dock while soaking up some sun while at Eddypolusa trying desperately to kick start myself back into the writing trend. And from here on out, well, no promises. August sees me in the Boston area twice and the Baltimore/DC area twice as well, so traveling abounds. But I'll do my best and leave it at that.

    A World I Just Can't Escape
I've never thought of myself as an internet junkie. I mean, sure, I've got my blog. And my myspace page. A few mentions here and there on old job websites, Alzheimer's Association newsletters, etc. Oh and of course there's my account on my new favorite time waster: www.goodreads.com.

Then of course there's the three email addresses. The AIM screen name. The dozens of blogs I read and comment on. I pay my bills almost exclusively online. Hell, I even order my groceries over the internet!

Is there an Internet Addicts Anonymous somewhere out there? Because I think I need to become a member.

Then again, it's got its upsides. I mean, without the internet, it would have been impossible for the almost instantaneous sharing of photos from the reunion this weekend (one of which features me kissing a gay guy. I’m sure that one will make mom proud). And I never would have met some very good friends I've made through this site. I also probably wouldn't have ended up making a scene in the middle of one of my favorite Boston bars this weekend, but what would the fun in that be?

That's right, Finy's got a story about being drunk and making out. Who's shocked? Yeah that's what I thought.

I haven't thought up a moniker for him yet (which he's going to be VERY disappointed by), but Saturday night found a long-time online friend and fellow blogger and I kind of sheepishly admitting mutual internet crushes on each other. Not going to tell you which one, since he very rarely talks about his personal life on his blog, and far be it for me to out him. But with so many drinks that evening, said admission did lead to making out like horny high school kids in the middle of a very well-lit bar. I'm nothing if not classy.

So while some people may not understand the internet addiction, I think I'll just ride mine out for a while. As if I ever really thought of escaping it in the first place.

    An Exercise in Pictoral Excuses
Yes, I have been absent over the last few weeks, months, etc. But really, I've got some pretty good excuses.

First, I went to a Sox game at Yankee Stadium where I watched Dice-K pitch and the Sox win:

And ate a lot of peanuts:

After the game, I got way too wasted when the Twin showed up at Prof. Thom's after a 6 month absence. But he wasn't alone, he had the new-me with him. I held it together while at the bar, but the evening ended with me crying on the sidewalk in the Welshman's arms. Look for a post soon about the rules of post break-up behavior. I think The Twin needs a memo.

So the next day I was hoping the Sox would cheer me up when I attended the second game in the series. That didn't happen, since they lost, but at least I got to watch Wakefield pitch.

The third game in the series was watched at Thom's. Much beer was imbibed during the day. And into the night. 12 straight hours of drinking does not a good blogger make:

After a few days break in which I recovered from said weekend, I went to a very swanky and very successful Alzheimer's Association Junior Committee gala:

At which I was the PICTURE of decorum:

Two days later I was at a Cinco De Mayo party in Boston:

That didn't end until the sun was rising:

Long story short? I'm such an ass that I am not even going to promise that I'll be blogging more now (even though I will, no really, I swear).

    Words Are My Weakness
It was a good thing I brought my most recent Time magazine with me. Typically, my subscriptions to Time and Sports Illustrated serve as reading material for my breakfast in the morning, occasionally my commute. I'll get an article in here and there. I hardly ever have the time to sit down and read through an entire issue in one sitting. But Saturday was a bit different.

Two hours, two subways, and a bus ride later, I found myself in the far reaches of the Bronx, having read through the entire issue I had brought with me, and walking towards a Barnes and Noble just blocks from Co-Op City.

I was on my way to meet Dave Copeland, an online friend who, one of his recent posts reminded me, I've "known" for a little over two years. Having just released his first book, Blood and Volume, Dave was doing a reading and after having heard about the project for so long on his blog, I was excited both to finally meet him, and to get my hands on a copy of the book.

Neither disappointed. Dave's just as friendly in person as I expected him to be, and the book? Let's just say that it's a good thing I had finished my magazine on the way to the event because there was no chance I was reading it on the way home. The two hours flew by as I was completely drawn into the world of the Israeli mafia members that populate the pages of Blood and Volume.

Now normally, I'd feel a little bad about overly praising the work of someone I consider a friend. It ends up sounding just so incredibly biased. Mainly because it is. But when you think about it, this one makes sense. I mean, I got to know Dave online through his blog, so really - it was his writing that drew me in the first place. What can I say, I'm a sucker for someone who can string a sentence together.

Of course there were a few awkward moments in the afternoon. Dave not being able to remember my real name when going to sign the book for me (though in truth, I've had that problem with others in the past - if Dave blogged under a pseudonym the way I do I am sure my first inclination would have been to call him by it). And I would have loved to have been able to hang out a bit longer, but with Dave surrounded by actual friends, I ended up feeling like the would-be online stalker girl or something. And nobody wants to be that girl.

So off I went, having picked up a great book, a new "real" friend (as Dave's inscription in the book so aptly put it), and an interesting start to what turned out to be a very packed Saturday.

But more on that later ...

The Ups and Downs of the Internet Age
Most of you reading this blog right now are children of the internet age. We apply for jobs on the internet, talk to friends on the internet, we pay our bills, buy gifts, in some cases even do our grocery shopping on the internet (yay Fresh Direct!). We marvel at how long it must have taken to do the most mundane things before the advent of the electronic age. It's a beautiful thing.

But it has its ups and downs as do most technological breakthroughs I guess. Personal communication is less, personal. Emails have replaced phone calls to friends. Letters, actual written letters, barely even exist anymore. But at the same time the amount of knowledge at our fingertips these days is incredible. And the internet can connect people from all over the world, expose them to things they never would have been exposed to before. I interviewed a woman in Baghdad back in the early part of 2006, and it was an incredible experience. And something that never would have happened had email not existed.

And then there are blogs. I've mentioned before that they have their pitfalls, and I've known that all along. Anyone who blogs knows that it is opening themselves up to the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nine times out of ten, the good out-weighs the bad. I love my readers, some of whom I know in real life and some of whom I've never met. It's a fun hobby to have, it keeps me writing, and I love it. There have been times it's caused me problems, before I really knew the kinds of repercussions that came with blogging. MM and I went through one of the rockiest parts of our friendship because of this space. Other friends have mocked me for it. Coworkers read it and pretended they didn't just to discuss it behind my back.

What not everyone realizes is that I can track who reads here. That's freaky and big brother-ish I know, but sitemeter doesn't actually give you all that many details. All you really get is an IP address. But from that I can usually tell who the people I know are. Company names usually appear in the report if it is attached to that company's IP address. So I know when The Twin stops by, when certain friends stop in, when former coworkers appear. And I honestly don't care. I mean who of us hasn't looked at an ex's myspace page after a break-up. Or googled the name of someone they're interested in? It is, again, a part of the internet age we live in. Like it or not, what I put out there can be read by anyone.

What I don't understand, what I'll never understand, is people who read what I write here, and then lie about it. And expect it not to get back to me. As if it's not all there. In black and white. I learned my lesson a long time ago, not to use people's names, not to talk about anything too personal unless I know someone won't mind, or unless it's about me. And with the level of anonymity I employ here, you'd have to know the details of my day-to-day life in order to figure out who people are. And even then very few people would be able to figure out, say, which of my married friend couples are going through some problems right now as I mentioned a few posts back. I would never put anyone else's secrets out there. I'm not that kind of person.

So today, when I received and email from a friend, explaining to me that there had been talk of something that hadn't actually appeared here, never would have appeared here, that I got pissed. I got really, honest to God angry. One of the thoughts that ran through my head was Why are these people, who are no longer a part of my life because they chose not to be, even still reading here. And why are they talking about it. It's not like I'm some public figure to gossip about, some celebrity to rag on in the tabloids or something of course I was going off the deep end with that analogy, but I was angry and my emotions were getting the most of my head.

Because the thing is even while I am not a celebrity, while I'm not even a very popular blogger, hell this place only gets about a hundred readers a day, to those hundred people, I am sort of a public figure. People who read here can say whatever they want about the decisions I make, the way I live my life, the things I say.

But to those people who started shit today? And you know who you are, remember this: You can have your opinions, you can continue your voyeuristic readership, you can laugh at me, you can judge me, that's fine, I willingly leave myself open to that. What you CAN'T do is blame me for shit I didn't do because you can't own up to what you did. This site is cached and backed up, and I've got written proof of everything that goes down here and so do about a hundred other people who read me. So try as you might to use me as a scapegoat, you can't do it, and you just wind up looking petty and small for trying.

    Ok, I Officially Need Help
See, I really wanted to redesign again. I didn't like the functionality of the last template and it was driving me up a wall. So I spent a LOT of time getting this one together, and when I preview my changes it looks great. But as soon as I republish, BAM, I get all these crazy symbols instead of punctuation.

Anyone know what the HELL I am doing wrong here?

Ok, I figured it out. For some reason, the posts that I originally wrote in word and then cut and paste into Blogger, ended up turning all the apostrophes and quotation marks into odd symbols. It just meant I had to go back into those posts and do some tweaking. I've only gone back a couple months, and am going to have to slowly go through the rest, so if you're looking at the old stuff, be patient.

But in general, what do you guys think of the new template? My mom isn't a big fan, she liked the colors of the last one, but with this template the comments are working better and I just think it's more functional. But that's just me, do you guys like it?

    The Things I Never Said
For those of you who have followed this blog for a while, you'll know that there are certain people in my "real world" life who never knew about it. A while back I uncovered myself to my family, to some of my friends, and I did't come up against the best reaction in the world. And in retrospect, I completely understand that.

Well, tonight, the last person NOT to know about the blog joins the ranks. I would like to welcome The Twin into the fold. Earlier this evening, while the Red Sox were getting their asses handed to them, I finally told him about this space. That's right, I finally opened up to him only AFTER we were done dating. Which in and of itself indicates a lot about my mindset while we were dating in the first place.

There is a lot more to say. Both here and to the Twin. But for the moment, I am going to go to bed. Content with the knowledge that there is nothing left to hide. There are many things that went left unsaid while I was in my last relationship. I can only hope that introducing him here will help him understand the mistakes we both made and help us to be better friends in the future.

    25,000

Well, I didn't get to post about it yesterday, but that doesn't mean I wasn't paying attention. That's right, yesterday at 4:30pm, my sitemeter recorded it's 25,000th hit. And who recorded that fateful visit? None other than Mikey, or Hey Freak! (Mikey, I know it was you because you came from whatever email it is you get when I comment on your blog ;) )

It's actually rather fitting that Mikey's the 25,000. His was one of the first blogs I started reading religiously after finding him through Macca's site, That's Incredicrap!

Don't know what else to say on this momentous occasion other than thanks for sticking around everyone. I never thought in a million years that anyone would read the crap I throw out there, but I appreciate that you do!!!!

    Happy Long Weekend
Well, as you can tell, the new template is up and running. Thanks to everyone who commented - there are still issues to work out (the comments being the main one) but I'll figure it all out at some point, try and be patient with me.

In a few hours I head up to Rhode Island. Tomorrow night is a friend's birthday party, Sunday is a wedding, Monday I head back to good ole NYC. I feel like the weekend is over already and it hasn't even started yet.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend! See you Tuesday!

A Hangover, A New Job, and a Celebrity Sighting
I awoke yesterday with, quite possibly, the worst hangover of my life. My head hurt, I threw up, and I generally felt like I was going to die. Wednesday had been my last day, as I had noted before, and after an interview for a sales representative job, I met up with 10 of my good friends at one of my favorite bars both to drown my sorrows and celebrate the end of what had turned into five weeks of torture.

I had intended the night to end with me returning to my apartment, drunk enough to have enjoyed the night, sober enough not to have become sloppy. A lot of beer and two shots later, I only vaguely remember leaving the bar, The Twin taking me back to his place, and generally taking care of me. So the hangover was to be expected I guess.

When I rose at 10:30 to use the bathroom, my head hurt so bad I couldn’t fall back asleep. So I checked my email. Along with a few “Hope you’re enjoying your first day of freedom” messages, was a note from a woman I had interviewed with a few weeks back. She asked me to call her whenever I got a chance. Hangover be damned, I got on the phone right away.

Long story short, I was unemployed for all of 18 hours. I can proudly say I am now the Publications Manager for a national non-profit. I am beyond ecstatic. The job has more responsibility, pays MUCH more, has better benefits, and I finally get to say goodbye to cube living since I’ll have my own office. Basically, it’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of, PLUS I’ll be working for a really great cause. I didn’t even need to think about it, I accepted the offer immediately. I then promptly called everyone I knew, told them about it, trekked back to my own apartment and went back to sleep. Getting a new job was exciting, but damn that hangover was still kicking my ass.

Later that evening, I met up with a group of friends from the company I had just been fired from. After choking down a few beers, we split ways and I headed towards Union Square to pick up a book at Barnes and Noble. Having just finished The Glass Castle, I had nothing to read on the subway ride home, and now that I was gainfully employed, I could afford to splurge on a new book.

As I’m standing outside Barnes and Noble, talking to Graduate School roommate about the new job and finishing off a cigarette, I see a Sox hat pass me on the street, and then stop a few feet away. The guy wearing it looks vaguely familiar, but I can’t quite place it. As I finish my cigarette and head inside I hear “Finy” behind me. I turn around, and it hits me. Sox hat guy? Yeah, it’s Jere ! Maybe not a celebrity to many of you, but to someone who reads his blog every day, he’s a celebrity in my little world. For those of you who don’t read his blog, you should. He knows more about baseball, pop culture, and well, really most anything, than I do.

So being the big dork that I am, I whip out my camera and have Chan take a picture of the two of us (see below). We chatted for a while, Jere led the way to his mother’s book , which I promptly bought. It was REALLY great to meet both Jere and Chan, and I hope Jere knows that now that I have met him in person I am going to require his presence at the bar at least ONCE to catch a game together this season.

So yeah, two days ago, my life was shit. Today, I have a great new job and I got to meet Jere. God damn, life is good.

    I've Become Boring!
... And save the "Become?" comments, wiseasses, I'm serious!

Ever since I was fired I eat, sleep, and breathe the job hunt. I talk about almost nothing else. Hence the reason I haven't blogged in a while. I don't want to bore you guys too.

So shoot me some ideas. Seriously, nothing is too ludicrous. Tell me what to write about and I will. Yes, this is yet another cop out, but trust me, I am saving you all this way.

    Have at it!

    15,000
Miles From Fenway has hit a milestone, and since I failed to even notice the last one I thought that this one was worth mentioning. At 7:33 this evening my 15,000th hit was recorded. And yes, I am going to call out that lucky visitor.

So, Mr. Or Ms. Roadrunner user from New York, NY, how are you? Thank you for visiting my blog. Judging on your short visit and your referring site (baseballsavant.blogspot.com) I am more than sure that you were disappointed to find that I have not spoken about baseball in quite some time. There are many reasons for that, the main one being, I hate dealing with rumors and am more of the, “get back to me when Spring Training starts” kind of fan (with the notable exception being my dismay at losing Theo Epstein because that’s really got to put a cramp in assembling a team in the off-season, no?). This makes me less of a fan in some people's eyes, but I see little point with getting wrapped up and emotionally involved in things that may or may not happen. I do that too often in my life already :) .

Anyway, I wish I had some fun little gizmo to give away, but unfortunately you’ll just have to deal with a virtual Finy hug and be content that I know you are special.

    My Liberal Pie Hole
Ok, everyone needs to go check this out. Some of you may recognize Lizy as a commenter around here. According to Meegan, Lizy is the "blonde version" of me (no not as is, she's a ditz, as in she actually has blonde hair). Many of us in this crazy little blogging world have been anxiously awaiting Lizy's progression from commenter to blogger and she's finally done it, so go check out her new site:

    A Question of Semantics
Imagine if you will, my mother, a regular reader of this blog, signs on to the site and reads the post directly preceding this one. She thinks it’s adorable, and so sweet that I would write something about her marriage to my father (she’d also like me to note that I told the story wrong. My father broke up with her not the other way around. She just knew he’d come back cause he hadn’t realized yet how he couldn’t live without her).

So as she normally does when she sees a post she likes, she drags my father in to read it. Dad doesn’t seem to read the blog on a daily basis but is an occasional reader and always reads when my Mom tells him too (see 25+ years of marriage, she’s got him trained pretty well :) ).

But as he scrolls down he sees the post about “The One”. And to my horror, focuses not on my melodramatic “how do you know” conundrum, but on a single term I used. “Fuck Friends”.

So in answer to your inevitable questions, yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is ACTUALLY my father’s comment on that post. And no, I don’t think he will EVER be meeting The Twin.

    Love you Dad!

Dogs, Drinks, Dads and Do Nothing Days
Well, it was a jam packed weekend. One which I only recovered from last night.

Friday night Meegan and I went over to our friends K&J’s house. K&J live only right around the corner from me and yet somehow, I had yet to meet the dog they got MONTHS ago. It was a great night, very relaxed and let me tell you I am now in love with their dog. Buster is a schnoodle and is literally like a walking stuffed animal.

One of the many conversations we had that night revolved around this blog. I hadn’t realized that J was a reader and he kept referencing things that I had written here (J I am still giving you free reign to post comments. Knowing you they’ll make me cringe and laugh my ass off all at the same time). The question came up as to what I would do if and when The Twin finds Miles From Fenway.

Honestly, I am not quite sure. I guess I don’t always realize exactly how revealing I am around here. I’ve never been the kind of person to hold things back, my good friends can easily vouch for that. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m not ashamed of that. That being said there are still things I don’t talk about here. Personal things, intimate things, things I think you guys will find boring. For as much as a lot of people think of blogs as online diaries, they’re really not. As a blogger you know there’s an audience there, and 9 times out of 10 you know your audience. You may think it doesn’t affect how you write and what you talk about, but even subconsciously, it must.

So I guess I don’t know what I will do when The Twin finds out about this (because obviously it’s inevitable). He’s a pretty laid back guy, so I’d like to think he wouldn’t be upset. But then again I’ve been talking to the internet about him for months. I can see how that would weird people out. I guess it’s a bridge I am just going to have to cross when I get to it.
    ________________________________________________________________________

I woke up pretty early on Saturday hoping to clean my apartment as much as possible before my father arrived that afternoon. Dad was picking me up to take me to Buddy’s hockey game in NJ and then the two of them were coming back to my apartment and staying with me for the night.

I was really excited about the entire thing. I love seeing my brother play, I hardly ever get to spend time with Dad, and Buddy had never seen one of my apartments set up before. Ever. I’ve lived in NYC for three years! But his busy hockey schedule and my frequent moving haven’t always made it practical. So this was a pretty big night for me.

Everything went to hell when we hit New Jersey. We got hopelessly lost, in the pouring rain, got pulled over for making an illegal U-turn, and took double the time to get to the rink than mapquest had estimated. Dad was, let’s say, not in the best of moods by the time we got there. And it took all the strength I had in me not to say I told you so after he got pulled over for that U-turn since I had literally said just moments before, “Dad you can’t make a U-turn here”.

So into the rink we go, expecting to have missed the first half hour of the game. Except … they weren’t even on the ice yet. Why? Because the ref didn’t show up. So instead they suited up the Assistant Coach for the opposing team and sent him out on the ice. Now let me just say this, I don’t blame what happened in this game on the poor Assistant Coach. A hockey game should have at least two refs if not three. This one had one and he wasn’t even a real ref. Keeping the game under control was next to impossible.

Actually, it proved completely impossible as with a minute left to go in the game the kids, frustrated, tired, and competitive, threw down their gloves, helmets and sticks, and started an all out brawl. Buddy’s team lost the game 5-3, and most of his teammates got their asses kicked in the various fights as well.

So on the way home I had father and a brother who were not exactly the happiest guys in the world, were bitching about how much they hate traveling for hockey, and how it sucks. Good to see you guys too!

Don’t get me wrong, they were sure to clarify the statement with, “except it’s still great to see you!” it was still a tough night. In the end it’s always wonderful to see them, and I loved having them there to play with the kitten and hang around my place. I just wish it had been under less stressful circumstances.

Now Sunday I had just the most wonderful, do-nothing New York Day. After kicking my brother and father out of the house early I arrived at Riverside Park for Memory Walk 2005 bundled up in more layers than I can mention and ready to don my bright orange Junior Committee team t-shirt. The Walk was hugely successful and I would once again like to thank everyone who donated.

After the Walk I took the subway home to Brooklyn and hung out for a while. Both of my roommates had their boyfriends over and I was in one of my “I really want to be alone” moods. So I showered, changed, grabbed my laptop and headed back into Manhattan. I had no real plan, no where specific to go, so I got out at the Prince Street station on the R line and just wandered. I love doing that sometimes, just walking around the city for no apparent reason. I finally settled into the Starbucks near St. Marks St., bought a grande White Chocolate Mocha, opened up my laptop and wrote nonstop for two hours. It has been MONTHS since I’ve been able to do that. All told I probably only had two sentences total that I was actually happy with and could use, but it still felt great.

I debated going to a movie afterwards and started up towards the Loew’s Cinema on Union Square, but as it always does, The Strand distracted me. I spent a long time in there just browsing the books. By then the movie I was thinking of going to see had long since started so I thought I’d head home. Instead I got distracted again by a street performer in Union Square who got the crowd so riled up he actually convinced them to let him crowd surf on them to end the show to the tune of “We Are The Champions”. It was fantastic :)

Days like that always make me so happy that I live in NYC. And my subway ride home only added to the sensation. We emerged from the tunnel to go over the Manhattan Bridge and there laid out in front of me was the Manhattan Skyline, same as it always is, with the Brooklyn Bridge extending across the river and the Statue of Liberty, torch glowing, visible beyond. And as a backdrop this gorgeous orange/red sunset that made me warm just to look at.

Written all out like this, it doesn’t seem like a lot, but that was a really fantastic day for me. And just what I needed.

    Administrative Update
A few recent additions to the links list:

Jumping Off A Bridge: Esther, a former coworker, very good friend, and frequent commenter around these parts, FINALLY started her own blog. Welcome to the blogosphere Esther!

The Importance of Being Idle: Another friend, Meredith, recently moved to London in order to get her Masters. She started the blog as a way to keep in touch with all of us back Stateside, but you should read it too, this girl ALWAYS has interesting stories.

Blog: Derek Rose: I've been reading Derek's blog for quite some time. A reporter for the New York Daily News, avid runner, and fellow Sox fan, I actually got to meet him for the first time on Wednesday night. Derek, it was great to meet you, GO SOX!

Grow Some Testicles: I have absolutely no idea how these girls found me, but I am SO glad they did. I found them because they linked back here and I've been obsessed every since. Four girls, living and loving in New York City. Think Sex and the City in blog format. It's fantastic.

    It Meant The World
*Warning, there are some seriously cheesy moments coming. Prepare yourself!*

For those of you who didn't see "Big Tool For You"s comment on my last post, check it out, it will make THIS post make a lot more sense.

BTFY and The-Future-Mrs.-BTFY (yeah you guys are going to be stuck with that moniker for a while) gave me a call just now. They told me how much they liked the blog, and how impressed they were with my writing. What I'M impressed with, and touched by, is that they made the call at all. A lot of my friends don't understand the whole "blog thing". And that's fine, I understand that, but just the simple act of calling me up made me want to run to the Upper East Side to hug them both.

My friends here in NYC are like my family. They mean the world to me. I don't know why they checked out the blog today, of all days, but I am so glad they did. I love you guys.
