Booked!! |
As if I haven't been traveling enough this spring, I have officially booked my long weekend getaway to Minnesota for this coming August. I know, sounds like an odd place to spend a weekend, but let me tell you, I couldn't be happier about it.
Each summer, The Red Head's friends from high school and college gather at his family's cabin on the St. Croix River and spend a long weekend drinking on the beach, drinking by the camp fire, and well, just drinking. It's an opportunity for everyone to get together, catch up, escape from the every day, and create stories that (in some cases unfortunately) live on for quite some time.
I missed last year's event (and it is an event, it's got a name, a website, even video trailers!) due to scheduling, but this year, it's official, I'm in. And I'm so excited, I just had to share. What a great way to start a Friday.Labels: friends |

Well at least this kind of traveling doesn't involve weddings, rehearsal dinners or bridal showers. Sounds like you'll be having a great time!

Enjoy Minnesota! I never went up North when I lived there, but I hear it's beautiful.
I spent my time there driving by the SPAM plant.
NOT beautiful.

Minnesota's a gorgeous state, as I was there in 1999. It's a great state to drink too! I went to a Twins-Red Sox game, as well as a Vikings exhibition game. But the highlight of the trip was when a friend and I found Mary Tyler Moore's house in Minneapolis. I was absolutely thrilled!!

Hey that sounds awesome, we do a weekend twice a year with just the guys from college. Just rocks to get back to what you were like between the ages of 18 and 22 the one thing that truly sucks is you just can't do it like you used to.
