Subway Solution |
Ok, so I am feeling a bit silly for even being worried about the subway threat. I thought about it for a long time last night and I think the root of it is knowing how vulnerable the system is, and not having faith that anyone could adequately secure it. So my solution? Get into work at the ass crack of dawn (also known as 7:30) and leave after rush hour.
I know nothing is going to happen today, but better safe than sorry right?
God, when did I become my mother?Labels: NYC |

Funny, I got here pretty early myself. We should have met up for coffee, since we haven't done that in a while.

I know it's been said and written plenty of times, but you're more likely to get hit by a car than get harmed by a terrorist. In fact, you're almost as likely to die choking on a peanut than at the hands of terrorists (yes, really, look it up). While that may be scant consolation, think about all the things we do on a daily basis without any fear that put us at more risk than getting on a subway train. If we do these without giving it a second thought, why worry about something that is unlikely to affect you?
PS Finy, I'd be more worried about the Camel Lights than the fundamentalists - they're WAY more likely to do you harm. New rule - no worrying about subway threats unless you care enough about your well-being to quit the cigs! ;-)

Says the Parliment Light smoker. Like I said, I know it's irrational, but I can't always help what I worry about! It just happens!!!

I agree with him! You're putting yourself in more danger with the cigs than by taking the subway. And besides, as my friends and family in Israel say, they are TRYING to make you scared and ruin your day to day life. Don't let them.

Oh my god this was SO not supposed to turn into a "Finy should stop smoking" post!!!
-
Sorry, but I couldn't resist. You should know me well enough to know that :-)

Stay safe finy. As for the cigs... You'll quit when you're ready.

Sorry finy - was just trying to give a little persective.
