    Anger : Attraction
It takes a lot to get me mad. I see this as both a blessing and a curse. It means that I don't tend to fly off the handle, but it also means that I tend to get stepped on quite a bit. I'm tolerant to a fault.

Yesterday, I hit my limit. After a trip to the DMV, a botched attempt to get a replacement license, a call to the DMV which resulted in a SECOND trip to the office of I-never-graduated-from-high-school-so-instead-got-a-job-torturing-citizens-for-the-state, I lost it. There was yelling, there was screaming, there was a lot of using the word "fuck". All I want is my life back, and yesterday, it felt like no one wanted to give it to me. So I lost it. I was fuming. I could feel the steam coming out of my ears and the laser beams shooting out of my eyes.

But here's the thing I noticed about being angry. I got more compliments from random men on the street yesterday than I've probably gotten combined in the last year. Is there something about a pissed off, glowering woman that turns a man on?

I've definitely noticed guys making comments to me more often when I'm pissed off. I think it's because they're gluttons for punishment :-).

Happy October, even if the DMV sucked some of that away.

Well, you know how some men like women who are the typical "damsel in distress"? The ones who "need" a man to save them?

Conversely, there are a lot of men who like to see a woman who's not taking anyone's shit. Not that she's bitchy - just that she's not rolling over. A strong woman.

      I know that's what I prefer.

Either that, or they're probably just trying to calm you down, and figure "She's a woman - compliment her looks. That should shut her up."

But, my theory? You've always been compliment worthy - but it took "making a scene" for men to notice you. (You don't seem like one of those girls who are always trying to get men to notice her)

OK, you know when you see that dork on TV, and he keeps talking and talking and digging his own grave even though he means to say nice things? Yeah.

mikey I believe the appropiate saying is "There But for the Grace of God go I".

I know what you were trying to get at, and it was what I was going to try to do. Thanks for taking one for the team. :-D

see, when i'm in that state i tend to get the "smile, honey!" comments, which really only serve to enrage me further.
because really, who are you, random dude, to issue commands about the state of my face?

but i'm glad you got to vent your anger - that's what should be done with it, eventually! :)

I suppose there's a chance that the skirt/knee high boots combination I was wearing contributed as well ...

meanwhile, Mikey, that was hilarious. Thanks :)

Wait... Knee High Boots? Why didn't you say so in the first place? There's your answer.

Ah, but I wear those boots all the time. They're like my fall/winter uniform. It's not like it's a new thing - they've never had that effect before!

Knee high boots? Seriously, those guys probably didn't even notice that you were angry.
