It Starts Today |
This afternoon, the Red Sox season opens up in Kansas City. For the next six months I'll be spending even more time than I already do at the local Red Sox bar Proffesor Thom's, I'll travel to at least four different cities to see games. I'll read thousands of articles, watch ESPN obsessively, and inevitably lose my fantasy league because I can never seem to pay enough attention to it.
This weekend, in preparation for the season, 40 of us from Thom's hopped on a bus filled with six cases of beer, and invaded Philly for the last Sox spring training game. With Dice-K on the mound, and a meeting with Matty planned, I had been excited about it for weeks. It lived up to the hype. The Sox won, Ortiz hit a homer, I did, in fact, meet Matty, and the beer flowed continuously. Not a bad way to start off the season.

Thanks for the cell phone photo FINY.
I'm so so excited baseball is finally back. Should be a good year, and I'll probably try to make it down to Professor Thom's a couple more times this year because I won't have EI since I'm not doing DirecTV.
